Innovation is in session at Wichita State University. For the third year in a row, five teams have reached the finals of the Koch Innovation Challenge – a collegiate competition sponsored by Koch Industries that challenges students to think innovatively and entrepreneurially while developing solutions to real-world problems. Now they need your help to win it all.
We’re giving the winner of the People’s Choice Award an extra judge’s vote in this year’s final competition. So, browse through their projects below, and when you’ve found your favorite invention, cast a vote.
These five teams of Wichita State students are looking to take their prototypes to the next level. Your vote could help them do just that.
A device to make changing the tiny batteries in hearing aids easier
A convenient toothbrush with toothpaste integrated into the handle
An icy elevation pillow for post-operative surgery recovery
A device to capture electric energy from industrial water usage
A mechanical device to gauge water levels for the visually impaired
Last Year, Team T-Rash (pictured here) took the title of Koch Innovation Challenge champions with their idea for the Swiftcan – a bottom-loaded trashcan that simplifies the process of taking out the trash and changing bags.
Who will it be in 2019? You could help choose a winner. Take a closer look at each of this year’s finalist innovations and cast your vote.
